Charlie Sheen and Warner Brothers Near Settlement Deal
Given that he made it all but impossible for “Two and a Half Men” to continue (with him as part of the cast, anyway), it’s hard to fathom that Charlie Sheen will receive anything at all in a “settlement” with Warner Brothers. That is, however, exactly what is happening. The beleaguered actor and the big studio are reportedly very close to reaching an agreement on the settlement, which would presumably bring to an end the ugly and sometimes vicious public battle that ensued after Sheen’s antics reached a crescendo last year.
According to sources, Sheen will receive somewhere in the neighborhood of $ 25 million to settle up, a figure that was arrived at from Sheen’s deal to share in the profits from the show. There has been no comment from Warner Brothers regarding a settlement and, in fact, a spokesman for the studio denied that there is a settlement. Looking back on the arguments between Sheen, the show’s writers and studio executives, it seems as though a movie could (and just might) be made from the whole experience. It certainly does seem to be the type of fodder that attracts producers these days.
At one point during the sordid spat, Sheen appeared on “Good Morning America” and “Today” and took shots at the show’s co-creator, Chuck Lorre, and then bragged about his hard style of living, which included lots of alcohol, drugs and women of a certain profession. After a lot of back and forth that also involved Sheen’s co-stars publicly expressing concern over his well-being, Sheen eventually sued the network for $ 100 million. That such a man could even file suit for such an amount – and that he’ll get $ 25 million out of this whole deal – may just be the quintessential sign that the beginning of the end is near.
Is This a Good Deal?
HI! I’m looking to buy a laptop. I’ve been checking out all the deal and bargain sites through google. I came across a few sites with the same prices, but they are wholesale prices from China. Here’s a link to one of them.http://www.coosource.com/gateway-nv5…lue-p-135.html
Even though it’s says wholesale, you can purchase just one. I’ve looked at many laptops on this site, and I like this one:
Gateway NV53A82u LX.WM802.029 Notebook PC – AMD Phenom II Dual-Core N660 3.0GHz, 4GB DDR3, 320GB HDD, DVDRW, ATI Radeon HD 4250, 15.6″ Display, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Blue
From what I glean from the site, they do drop shipping, and charge $ 30 shipping. I’m not completely sure what drop shipping is, and do you have to pay tariffs? Is this a good place to get a laptop? Also, reading reviews on the gateway, the only con is that it runs hot. A friend said this is no problem as all laptops run hot, and I can get a laptop heat pad to remedy this situation. If that is so, any recommendations on a heat pad? Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
